Get ready for an Amazing Grace Adventure! We are once again joining with the other churches in Byron and Discovery Bay to put on a Community Vacation Bible School.
The adventure begins June 16 and sails through June 20. Camp hours are from 8.45 to 11.50 each day. Registration has begun, and forms are available in the church office for both campers and leaders.
We appreciate that the life of a caregiver is a stressful one. Every caregiver needs some downtime to relax and renew themselves. If you are you a caregiver, whether for someone with cancer, or for any other reason, come and revitalize your spirit by joining us for a retreat. You are invited to come and spend some time in our garden to gain inspiration, nurturing and to share a delicious lunch. It is free of charge, but if you would like to attend, you must register by May 27 by sending an email to spiritualcare@kaleidoscopehope.org or calling 925-550-6198.
St. Anne Catholic Church with the American Red Cross are having a Blood Drive onWednesday, May 28 from 1 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. You can register for an appointment, you can call 1.800.REDCROSS, or register on line by going to www.redcrossblood.org clicking the button to make an appointment, and entering the sponsor code “STANNBYRON”. Walk-ins are always welcome, but appointments help to make things run a bit smoother. You must be 16 years of age or older with a valid ID.
Rummage Sale to benefit the food pantry. If you have any gently used items; new clothing, small appliances, light-weight furniture, toys, etc. that you would like to donate, please call the office. A donation of $5.00 will get you into the pre-sale on Friday May 16th from 5p.m. to 7 p.m.
This Kaleidoscope Gathering will have a special focus on caregivers. There will be a discussion of Caregivers’ needs in our community and how Kaleidoscope will be able to meet those needs. Note that this meeting is intended for all caregivers and not just those supporting folk with cancer.
Have you seen the movies Noah or God’s Not Dead, or have you read the reviews or heard folk talking and don’t know what to think? Stay after church on Sunday May 4 for a discussion with Pastor Joan on the way Christianity is presented, and some of the questions raised by the movies.
Kaleidoscope is participating in the Town of Discovery Bay Live, Laugh and Learn Resource Fair. Kaleidoscope will speak about support for caregivers. We will also mark World Labyrinth Day by spraying a Labyrinth onto the lawn of the Community Center and offering Labyrinth Walks.
